The Irony of Freedom

Maybe it's just me, but does anybody else find this ironic? A few weeks ago Chinese students at UW were protesting the visit of the Dali Lama. They believed that he was "over-blowing" the situation in Tibet. Call me crazy, but didn't China invade Tibet and overthrow it's government? Isn't China a totalitarian regime that has abused the person freedom of it's citizens for decades? (I have a little first hand experience on this.) Aren't Tibetan protesters being arrested for criticising the Chinese government? Has everyone forgotten Tiananmen Square?

Back to the UW students - none were arrested. Isn't freedom ironic?

"It is for freedom's sake that Jesus has set us free."
