After another six hour drive Jennifer and I made it back from Baker City. We really enjoyed our visit. Baker is a great town that we think we would really enjoy living in.
Saturday we had a busy day. It began with breakfast with Eric and Kristy Sandefur. After breakfast they showed us around town and then we went to the Young Life House where they hold Club. We then went to the Young Life car wash and met some of the leaders and kids. That evening we had dinner with the leaders. They are all great people, and I am impressed with the ministry they have built.
Jennifer and I both agree that we think it would be great to serve alongside the folks in Baker. We hope that you will be praying that God would speak very clearly in regards to what His plan is for Young Life in Baker. The committee has a hard decision before them. There is a volunteer leader there who has been in the ministry for the past eight years. He is a teacher and is considering being the area director in Baker. Everyone we met said that they love us, but we also know it will be a very difficult process for them. Please join us in prayer for them through that process. They are meeting on Wednesday night to decide who they want to go with.
We'll keep you updated, but please pray for God to speak clearly and for the courage to act on what He says.
